Sushi King is Non-Halal

Salam..

Aku berasa marah.. Geram..

Nak jadi cerita.. Satu hari ni aku nak treat member aku makan Sushi kat Sushi King.. Ain Hamali namanya.. Becoz.. Dia ni lah member paling setia ngan aku.. Ok.. Cut the crap..

Aku browse laman web Sushi King.. http://www.sushi-king.com/

Tujuan aku browse laman web ni pasal nak tgk menu dia.. memang pelbagai.. Yang aku pelik.. Diorang serve *Sake based food..

Aku mula tertanya2 tentang status halal tempat ni.. So aku browse kalau2 ada halal certificate info kat web dia.. memang takde.. Then aku recall balik.. Memang kat every premise dia takde logo halal nie..

So aku buat online enquiry kat laman web tu..

Dear Mohamed Afiq,

Thank you for your email.

For your information, we are not a Halal restaurant as we do not have certification from JAKIM, but we only can claim us as Pork free.

All our meat based products like chicken and beef are Halal Certified and we do not use any pork or pork derivatives in our restaurant.

Thank you.

May you have a great day ahead!

Warmest Regards,

How often do you visit Sushi King : Once every few month
Which outlet did you last visit : Sushi King Mahkota Parade (Melaka)
Date : 24.05.2008
Time : 2.13pm
Food : Good
Value for money : Average
Cleaniness : Excellent
Service Quality : Excellent
Enquiry : I would like to know about halal staus of Sushi King since there were no halal logo on every of your premise entrance.

Untuk pengetahuan korang.. Walaupun dia kata takde babi dalam makanan diorang.. But..
Macam aku sendiri buat sushi.. So.. Ingat.. Lepas ni tak payah pi sushi king.. it's a Non-Halal Restaurant..

Thanks for the info about the halal certification of Sushi King. It is very informative and should be disseminated to all Muslim friends.

Anyway, I'm planning to make my own sushi but still looking for the halal vinegar suitable for sushi. As mentioned, your mum used to have her own vinegars, so if you don't mind, can i have the recipe how to make our own vinegar????

Just for info, nak makan sushi kat Jusco Perda OK, staf jusco sendiri yang buat.. sebab semua yang buat tu melayu, dan mereka guna cuka halal.

thx for sharing, gila lah, erm, nak tanya, semua shushi ke tak halal.? i meant kalau yang jual dekat jusco, yang buatnye pon orang melayu....

maaf bertanya, hanya satu persoalan semata mata

Salam.. Hi.. Izbeta.. Wallahualam..

Email kedua dari http://lepaktime.blogspot.com/2009/08/sushi-king-halal-ke.html:

Enquiry : I know that your chicken & beef are from halal supplier. How about your sushi? Do you put any sake or any other types of alcohol in your sushi? If you did, you shouldn’t do. Cause muslims can’t eat your sushi if contains any alcohol. Hope you can change it to vinegar that not contains alcohol cause muslims also want to enjoy your sushi. Thank you.

Jawapan dari Sushi King :

Dear Faeza,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Sushi King is not certified 'Halal'. This is due to some of our food contains 'Mirin'.

Mirin is derived from fermentation of rice and it is commonly used in Japanese cooking to enhance the taste of food.

Following are products that contains Mirin:
1. Unagi Kabayaki
2. Unagi Slice
3. Karei Nitsuke
4. Saba Misoni
5. Mamakari
6. Ikura

On top of that, some of our restaurants do sell beer.

Hope this answers your question.

Thank you.

May you have a great day ahead!
